No matter what legal problems R Kelly has faced, he remains the king of R&B. Many said R&B Music died when he was arrested and charged in July 2019 on federal charges, including sex crimes and obstruction of justice.

While many feel he is wrong, many felt it was an attack on a successful black man.

However , TMZ may have obtained a Projected Release Date: As of January 2026, R Kelly is serving a 30-year sentence in a medium-security federal prison in Butner, North Carolina, with a projected release date of December 21, 2045
