Kool & The Gang Drop “Kool Summer” EP -Out Now

Kool & The Gang released the Kool Summer EP via Universal Music Enterprises (UMe). It re-energizes and reimagines various classics from their catalog, with six brand-new official remixes. GRAMMY® Award-winning Rock & Roll Hall of Fame® inductees and iconic New Jersey R&B group Kool & The Gang. They carefully found global producers and remixers to bring the project to life.

YOUNG FRANCO

Australian DJ and producer Young Franco brings 21st-century house music energy to Celebration. Get Down On It remains a funk staple and one of the most recognizable R&B songs of all time. Dominating charts on both sides of the Atlantic, it notably vaulted into the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 and Top 5 on the UK Singles Chart. It also received Platinum certification from the RIAA in 2024.

DJ CRAZY REMIX

Among other remix standouts is DJ Crazy’s Jersey Club Remix of “Celebration.” It’s a high-energy, dancefloor-ready track—perfect for parties, graduations, and family reunions. It generated nearly 100K Spotify streams and landed plugs from TheUrbanMusicScene and more.

PRINCE HAKIM BELL REMIX

Robert “Kool” Bell’s son, Prince Hakim Bell, is a globally sought-after DJ. He cooked up a remix of “Fresh.” With its fast rhythm, head-nodding beat, and funk guitar, this remix is captivating.

Prince Hakim says, “I chose ‘Fresh’ because I assumed everyone else would choose ‘Celebration’ and ‘Get Down On It.’ The band opens the show with it, which is always a crowd-pleaser and has a good groove.”

“My partner Alessandro and I wanted it to sound like a Maroon 5 record. I met Adam Levine in NYC one night, and he told me Kool & The Gang is one of his favorite bands. Before they became famous, they used to open for them in California. By the way,” he adds with a laugh, “my cousins and I were instrumental in naming that song. I need to check if I received credit.”

THE REFLEX REMIX

The Reflex crafted and contributed “Celebration (The Reflex Revision Radio Edit)” and “Jungle Boogie (The Reflex Revision Radio Edit).” He leaves his imprint on both of these staples, magnifying their spirit with reverence.

Jungle Boogie originally peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100, went RIAA Platinum, and appeared in Pulp Fiction and on the iconic 3x-Platinum soundtrack album, among numerous other syncs.

London-based The Reflex’s sonic spell continues, gathering over 100 million streams and counting.

ADAM TEN & JACKIE IGNITE REMIX

Adam Ten and Jackie ignite “Get Down.” A jazzy bassline holds the groove while the propulsive production slides through house and progressive stylings. A smooth, reverb-heavy guitar solo adds pleasing sonic sounds.

All of these tracks give Kool Summer its style and swagger.

ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME

Kool & The Gang have continued to make waves throughout culture. Last year, they were officially inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame® as part of the “Class of 2024,” delivering a showstopping performance at the annual ceremony.
